Before you can register your vehicle in Germany, you need a complete TÜV inspection in accordance with §21 StVZO (German Road traffic Licensing Regulations).
Depending on the country of origin and the country of destination of the import vehicle, modification works on the vehicle usually need to be undertaken and certificates of exemption have to be obtained.

Necessary documents:

• US “title”/MSO or “ownership” (Canada imports) documents
• Written confirmation that the vehicle has passed customs (ZUB)
• KBA (information from the central vehicle register)
• Vehicle data sheet
• Light technology certificate
• Exhaust emission characteristics certificate

On completing the modifications, the vehicle can be presented for its TÜV inspection.
After issuing the vehicle registration document and obtaining the necessary exemption certificates, your vehicle is fully registered.
